Melanie C ditches the "indie" and the "pop" look and takes on a punk look for her latest video, and her first solo single.
The video was shot in LA, she wears very short spiky blonde hair, plaid skorts, boots, a black top. Check the pictures out in the photo gallery.
Melanie's fave band has won her to the James Bond theme song. Garbage will sing the theme for "The World Is Not Enough".
EMI will soon purchase a music publishing company which owns the rights to some of the hit songs of the Spice Girls. The deal is worth $200 million.

The first ever solo Spice Girl, current member only, album has been finished. Melanie C's "Northern Star" was recorded in Los Angeles over the past few months. The album is due October with the first single entitled "Goin'Down" (not "Ga Ga" as previoulsy assumed) will be out slightly before. The single will feature bonus tracks and other album track, "Ga Ga".
Northern Star was produced mainly by Rick Rubin with William Orbit producing just a handful of the songs.

In what may seem an odd debut, Melanie C has been officially announced as a performer for this years rock-fest V99.
The festival takes place August 21st and 22nd at Hylands Park, Clemsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire. Many tabloids have jumped at the report since no "pop" musician has ever performed at the event. Only "indie", "garage" and "rock" musicians have played the gigs.
The album is claimed to be modern rock. Tracks such as "Ga Ga" have brought comparisons to Garbage's music.
The event will help promote her first solo single, "Goin'Down", which will be releaed September via Virgin Records.

It is unknown why, but William Orbit has been called in to produce some tracks off Melanie C's debut solo album.
William Orbit and Melanie C are in the US working on the solo album.
It has been announced that Melanie C is possibly to perform at the V99 music festival which will take place on August 21st and 22nd at Hylands Parks in Chelmsford, Essex, and at Weston Park.
Melanie C wished Zoe Ball her best on her wedding, since Melanie won't be able to make the wedding due to the event.

Melanie C has cut her hair again. She shortly showed off shoulder-length blonde tresses now it looks different.

TOTP recently ask Mel G about Mel C's new look she unveiled at the premiere of Austin Power. Here is what she had to say:
Melanie G: "I know, we were both giggling our heads off, she was like, "I've never worn a skirt before!" and I was like, "You look fantastic! Go girlfriend!" Her hair looks wicked, it really does, very LA!"
In an MTV news brief Melanie C was asked what she thought of Geri Halliwell's solo material. She answered:
"It's good I like it, it's not my cup of tea though, but the video is brilliant she looks great."
