According to some visitors at Spicenews, Holler has hit some radio stations in Northern California and Florida. In even greater news Melanie C fans may be clubbing to her music very shortly. She was first mentioned when her debut album was released, she made it into their hot picks chart but never made it into the top 200. Music Chart Stats

"ITTY" has slipped to number 30 this week as Mariah Carey and Westlife top the chart with their new single...it was mainly Mariah's name that got the single up that high. "Northern Star" has also been bumped down to the number 11 spot after Madonna's "Music" and the "Immaculate Collection" have jumped right into the top ten. "NBTSA" remians at number 11 on the Top 20 2000 Chart. "If That Were Me" will be released soon aswell, it is coming out November....if Northern Star remins in the top 20 I reckon Melanie might just get a number one album in the UK...but we'll have to wait and see...but "Northern Star", and our northern star really do deserve it.

Mel Suite Trashing Spree

Melanie C has revealed all to worldpop about her wild night on the town with her support act, Tomcat.
In the new instalment of Mel's tour diaries on worldpop's official Melanie C microsite, Mel explained that after her recent gig in Newcastle she decided some serious partying was in order and invited her band, the crew and Tomcat out for some drinks. 'It's the first time we've actually socialised together so it was fun,' Mel told worldpop, 'but I paid for it the day after!'
'We had a bit of an accident in the hotel room,' Mel continued before dissolving into giggles. 'The hotel was very sweet about it though!'
Although Melanie's show boasts plenty of rocky numbers, it seems the most rock'n'roll behaviour came from Tomcat. 'They trashed my room,' Mel chuckled. 'Yesterday they sent me some flowers to apologise but I'm not going to let them off, they're not going to get away with it that easily.'
When asked what Tomcat were doing in her room, Mel blushed before insisting, 'I was just showing off my suite!'

Foul Spice

The Spice Girls have been the latest BIG name to fall foul of file sharing center, Napster. The Girl's had already publicly aired "Holler"via their website, but Let Love Lead The Way has already been loaded onto Napster aswell...The single, "Let Love Lead The Way/Holler" will be released via Virgin on October 23. Earlier last week Radiohead had their share of foul file sharing when their new album was fully uploaded onto Napster. I hope the people who download the files still go out and buy the cd on its relaease date...for all the artist whose material is out their. According to some people "Let Love Lead The Way" is a track written about Geri. The track was suppsoedly written after the Girl's saw geri's Fly On The Wall documentray. Holler To The Top UK!

Spice Girls' video for their new song "Holler" has entered the MTV Select video chart at #1! This is the European equivelent to the US MTV TRL. Very few videos(any?) in the past have hit the #1 spot on their first appearance on the show. The show's presenters were even in shock themselves. Official News On Fergus

We're really sorry to have to tell you this but Melanie's gig tonight at the Royal Court in Liverpool and tomorrow's gig at Colston Hall in Bristol have been postponed.
Musical director and drummer, Fergus Gerrand, has been taken ill very suddenly and will not be able to perform for the next two days. It's not thought to be too serious but he's had to stay in hospital just to make sure.
The plan is to re-schedule the shows, not cancel them, but new dates have not been decided yet. The minute we know we will post it here.
As things stand, Thursday's gig in Cardiff will go ahead as planned, we'll confirm this as soon as we know how Fergus is doing. Sorry again guys!
Oh we almost forgot...happy birthday Fergus - nice present!!!

My B-day was yesterday too! Happy B-day Fergus! Virgos are the best =0) Unfortunately I wasn't able to party either because I was working on my architecture project till 3 in the morning...and had to be back in school by 8! Nice one!

Music Chart Stats

A triumphant week for the Spice Girls! They've gone number one in Argentina and Malaysia as well as having topped the Charts in Brazil a week ago! Sounds like the girls are back for good. Melanie C is doing great aswell! ITTY was bumped down to the number 24th spot on the UK Top 75 singles...yet "Northern Star" remains stagnent for the third week at number 6! That is great! NBTSA remains in the 11th position on the UK Top 20 2000 but NBTSA moves down the the 35th position on the UK R'N'B Albums Chart. We'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out how Miss C did on the World Chart Show, and then check back midweek for the WorldPop Global Chart stats. Til then have a great one everyone!

No Spice X-mas Single..Again!

London's offices have reported that the Spice Girl's will not be releasing a single before christmas, thus they are not going to try to get the Christmas Number 1 this year....another year in a row! Melanie C, on the other hand, will give it a crack by releasing "If That Were Me" in November. Let's hope it hangs around enough to make it to number 1 on Christmas....last year Northern Star caved in three weeks before X-mas...before that it was one of the strongest contendors for the number one spot.

Westlife Are Cowards

In a recent interview, J Brown, Melanie's "ex", told the interviewer that Westlife where cowards because Westlife first tried to beat Five and now they are trying to go for the Spice Girls. He then stated that Westlife would loose...he'd be crushed by the earth. Sounds like there definetly is some sense of care between both Mel and J...even after their "break-up".

Tomcat On Mel C

The first thing we did after Tomcat went on the road with Melanie C, was to catch up with Mark to find out how it went!!!

So have you met Melanie yet?

Yeah she came in last night, and it was quite surprising 'cos she came and sat down with us for like 20 minutes and it was really nice.. She didn't have to do that..but she's a really normal, down-to-earth girl, which is good you know, 'cos its a good start to the tour..she's damaged her foot but she coped really well with it on stage...

As Mark probably already mentioned we were spraying a bottle of champagne around after the first gig in Derby. We were all really soaked and there was hardly anything left to drink! To cap it all though Mel C came in to say well down and had a drink with us. well, she hopped in!

Her show was brilliant - she is a total pro - as her foot is broken and she has just started a national tour! Cole and Melanie compared tattoos and we even saw Mel's Calvin Klein thong!

The crowd really got into our thing, there was loads of energy and vibe there. It was the same for Middlesborough, everyone really getting into Tomcat - we thought that they wouldn't care as we are just the support act but it's been a fantastic week!

It was a bit different at Newcastle though as everyone was sitting down - there were really polite and were clapping, well they were getting into it as well but... well, they were all seated! That night we had a bit of an impromptu party with Melanie C and all of her crew and musicians. In fact we had a bit of a BIG party!

Then we had a day off.

And what did we do?

We went to the Metrocentre in Newcastle and bought a football for £4. I did the best volley ever with my right foot(and I'm left footed!) but after it flew wide of the field and hit the bus stop - so we legged it!

We have blown all our money on room service (that didn't take long!) - we are having a right laugh though as I am sharing with Cole and Dan and mark are sharing together in twin rooms.

We are busy racing around in our A-Team style van (but without the red stripe) a lot of the time. We sit in the back in our 70s airline style seats watching the TV - we are in the middle of watching the Star Wards trilogy at the moment (the Death Star is about to be blown up). We have to kick the door to get out! It's cool though - mind you you should see Melanie C's tourbus ! Now THAT is cool!

In The Works

We'll, I've been trying real hard to upload the new Spice Girls tracks to the server, but the internet connection I have is very bad and cuts me off once 95% of the file is up...I'll keep on trying though. If you visited the site and can't find a link on this page or the home page it is cause the files are still not up. Sorry, I hope the news makes up for the inconvenience. I am also working on uploading other more rare Melanie C tracks. I won't be able to make them mp3 because of my lack in the knowledge on how to convert a cd into an mp3....but I can promise you a real audio file of I Wonder What It Would Be Like( the rocked up version), Never Be The Same Again (US released Kung Pow edit...for the radio only and it is a great club style mix), Independence Day ( not available on any official cd released), You Taught Me ( another great track never released officially), and other tracks. The KEY here is that the tracks will be "radio" edits or part of what the radios can play....the reason being that those tracks are inteded to be played openly where as a single b-side, or a single track or album track are meant to be purchased by the consumers. I don't want any legal problems and that is why tracks that are loaded to the website will be promo's or very rare hard to find tracks that were never relased. As for the surrent Holler and Let Love LEad The Way, they'll be taken down the minute the single is released since the video will most likely be on the single, and the edits will also be available on the singles. Anyway you can check back here soon for those great tracks.

Who'll Be The One?

According to the new predictions, this year the Spice Girls are 5/1 for snatching the number 1 spot during Christmas. Britney Spears and Robbie Williams are above them at 4/1 and 3/1 respectively. Westlife marks in at 9/2. Let's just hope the Spice Girls snatch the spot...if Robbie wins he'll be getting his first Christmas number 1...most of the major artist are yet unsure of what sinlge they'll be releasing by Christmas time.

Previously I had given the credit to Spicenews for the LET LOVE LEAD THE WAY radio rip, but the origin of the real audio is from Malaysia Spice . Mel Congratulates SuperKids

Melanie C was in Sheffiled playing her gig at the City Hall. Arriving back to her room she heard that their was The Star Annual Awards ceremnoy going on to honor children that had acheivements in courage, caring, academics and triumphs over adversity. Melanie decided to drop by the awards and congratualte the 15 kids. This is what she had to say

"I'm not supposed to be here but I was staying at the hotel and heard there were some really special children here who'd done some very brave things. It would be silly not to come down and say hello and congratulations to them."

Stockholm Tickets, More For Sale

Mel C Spotting, Movie Correction

Ben tells me that this week's OK magazine Melanie C was pictured shopping in London with ex boyfriend J. The pair are pictured carrying a big shopping bag and walking out of a bookstore. The caption reads that although they broke up, it seems the pair are still friends. They've got to have made-up somehow, since Mel was very disappointed with him and the relationship, telling fans not to date boyband members...It proves to me that she is a far greater person than I am.

The Sun newspaper also reported the Mel C Movie...but as Ben was so nice to point out, the movie is a Jackie Chan style not a Bruce Lee style movie. That was my mistake...sorry.

Holler Heralds All New Spice Girls From Jam Showbiz

Never mind the solo albums, the marriages, the babies, the divorces, the lawsuits, the breast implants.
The past two years have done wonders for The Spice Girls' fashion sense. That's our verdict on the group's new Holler video, which makes a much-ballyhooed TV premiere on MuchMusic today at noon. The clip became available on-line yesterday through The Spice Girls' label, Virgin Records, at www.vmg.co.uk.
The Holler single was also released to radio yesterday, and will be available in stores Oct. 24. The Spice Girls' third album, Forever, comes out Nov. 7.
Judging from the Holler video, which was unveiled by Virgin Canada for a handful of reporters at MuchMusic headquarters yesterday, the British song 'n' dance queens have undergone an eye-candy overhaul. In fact, Holler is a veritable triumph -- not so much for the group, but for their stylists. Gone are platform heels and tacky plastic skirts that accompanied 1996 album Spice and 1997's Spiceworld. Instead, Mel "Sporty" C moves from awkward cyberpunk to groovy rave chick; Mel "Scary" B's sex-commando look morphs into soul diva; Emma "Baby" Bunton ditches the mall for Milan; and Victoria "Posh" Adams looks, well, posh.
Second things second, Holler has a sophisticated music track to match the foursome's upmarket look. The bubblegum pop that marked The Spice Girls' previous discs is replaced by a bumping, hyperproduced bit of R&B-pop that is a direct response to the Toni Braxtons and Janet Jacksons of the world. The tune was produced by Rodney Jerkins, who has worked with Braxton, Brandy and Monica.
"I think it will appeal to the maturing tastes of (Spice Girls') fans from four years ago," Virgin Canada's national promotions director, Paul Shaver, remarked yesterday. "The group itself seems to have matured."
Reporters also got to listen to two other tracks from Forever: Let Love Lead The Way is a tepid if upbeat tune that will be released as a double A-side with Holler. Why, a ballad, features a rare lead vocal turn from Adams. Forever is The Spice Girls' first full-length album since the departure of founding member Gerri Halliwell in 1998.
During a group hiatus last year, Mel C tried her hand at a solo career with the album Northern Star. Adams married British soccer star David Beckham and had a son, Brooklyn. Mel B was briefly married to back-up dancer Jimmy Gulzar and had a daughter, Phoenix Chi.
Adams made news last week when she was reportedly hospitalized for a mild form of meningitis.

Snake Mate

The Spice Girls have an unusual new member of the band for their latest video shoot - and he eats live rats. A ten foot white Burmese Python joined the band in the video for their brand new single, Holler Holler, but Mel B and Mel C claimed not to be afraid of working with it at Elstree Studios. An onlooker said: "The snake seemed quite happy and Mel B and Mel C spent the day stroking it." The group brought in the slippery animal as part of their spiritual feel for the pop promo, where they link up to the Greek elements. Posh plays Air, Mel C is Earth, Mel B is fire and Baby Spice is Water. During the video, set in a scene similar to the biblical Garden of Eden, the girls interact with their surroundings. Fortunately for the girls, the snake, which munches through three rats a week, didn't have his dinner on set.

Holler Review

Holler is the Spice Girls' most R'n'B single yet but that doesn't mean they've forgotten about pop. With a tune catchier than a bout of flu in an old people's home and a booming bass line, you won't be able to stay in your seat to watch the video, you'll be up and boogying with the girls.

ITTY Americana!

It seems that Virgin has decided to start the Spice Invasion. According to Spicenews, the Virgin Records America co-president Ray Cooper has told the pres:

"We have a remix for 'I Turn To You,' and we think we've got a shot at clubs and a shot at rhythmic radio. We're going to kick off that campaign and then lead that into the new Spice Girls record. With these British artists, you have to have a structure to get you there, you can't just come out with great records."

Brilliant! I can't wait to hear her in my radio and see her kick ass...maybe next time they'lll concider actually releasing singles off the album in the US cause it always helps!!

Mel C Movie?

Mel might finaly get to save the world. Asked about staring in a movie, a while back, Melanie said she would like to save the world. It seems that Bruce Lee heard her cry. There is a rumour in Britain that a martial arts movie, Bruce Lee style, titles Razor is in the works and Melanie C is one of the three female stars to be concidered. The other two girls are Gail Porter and Patsy Kensit. The movie calls for three girls.

Music Chart Stats

I Turn To You has slipped to number 15 this week on the UK 75 Singles Chart. Northern Star stays in the number 6 position on the UK 75 Albums Chart! Way to go Mel! It is a great album...finally getting the recognition it deserved early on. NBTSA slips to number 11 on the Top 20 2000 chart after being at number 9 last week BUT it moves up nine notches to number 29 on the UK R'N'B Albums Chart! We'll have to wait til tomorrow to see how ITTY did this week on the World Chart Show.

Whatever you're doing next Monday (Sept 11th), make sure you get yourselves to a PC cos that's where you'll find our brand new single 'Holler' on our website! You'll also be able to see our new video, plus a totally exclusive behind-the-scenes film of what life's been like for us in the run-up to the third Spice album!

How They Wrote

Melanie B: What are my favourite tracks on the Spice album? The singles Let Love Lead The Way and Holler are slammin'! And Oxygen which we did with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis is really nice. We all went into separate corners in the studio and wrote down how we fell in love and what we think love is, so everybody's written their own bit about their own relationship in that song. Because we've all done solo stuff, we're more confident about our voices. We'll each sing a verse and join together for the chorus. The harmonies are tighter and it's more of a mature, powerful sound, even if I do say so myself!

Yesterday at the VMA 2000 they had a skit called "People Who Aren't With Us Today". The Spice Girls were included in the skit! But don't worry guys cause they'll be teaching MTV something in less than three months! The Girls did make it into the top 5, at number 5, best VMA performances with "Say You'll Be There".

Lisa Is Missing!

Horrible news...I read this yesterday but thought the issue would be solved over night. Apparently they haven't. Left Eye has gone missing. Her friends and family are worried. Nobody has heard from her or seen her during the last nine days. Keep her in your prayers...hopefully she'll show up at a Mel C concert....but for some reason I think her friends would have known this...or atleast her publicist would. Anyway I hope she is found soon.

Two Great Thumbs Up!!!

The first show of Melanie C's UK tour, which took place in Derby last night, was a triumph and worldpop was there to witness the smiles and the tears

Despite nursing a broken foot ('Everyone's saying I've broken my toe. I haven't, I've broken my f***ing foot,' Mel bellowed by way of explanation) Mel nearly rocked the roof off pogo-ing and hopping all over the stage.

But rocking out wasn't all the audience was treated to. With her band accompanying her on acoustic guitar, Mel sang note-perfect renditions of albums tracks Be The One and Closer before performing b-sides Angel On My Shoulder and I Want You Back for the first time ever.

At one point Mel was reduced to tears by the audience's overwhelming reaction. Kids, teenagers and 30-somethings sang along with every lyric and screamed as if they were watching J from Five, not his ex-girlfriend. Of course Mel's I Love Derby T-shirt probably helped.

The main difference between this tour and Mel's last is that this time last year Melanie was Solo Spice Girl with a couple of moderately successful singles. Now she's a multi-million selling artist in her own right, with Number Ones and a platinum album under her belt, and it shows. She's more confident and her voice sounds better than ever.

Mel B Wanted Out

Supossedly, Mel B came very close to quitting the Spice Girls in 98 after Geri left. Jimmy Gulzar revealed that Melanie B couldn't get over Geri's leaving and wanted out aswell...this is very odd. Mel B's about to release an album and along with it comes this rumour. When Mel C's "Northern Star"came out rumours began to fly about her having desired to quit the Spice Girls but compromising by doing a solo album instead. I just find it ironic.

Spice Save A Life..Sort Of

Christopher Price, a young nine year old Spice Girls fan was in a coma for six weeks on the brink of death after being knocked down by a car near his home. Doctors said that his injuries were unsurvivable. His family tried everything to bring him back, and started playing his favorite album - SpiceWorld on non-stop repeat for him. Christopher's mother Jane recalls:

"We played the CD over and over to Christopher during the six weeks he was unconscious. The words seemed to relate to Christopher's situation, especially Viva Forever. Part of the lyric is about life slipping through your fingers. Eventually, he started to come round, against all the odds. It was amazing. The doctors had told us that his injuries were unsurvivable. But he defied the odds and pulled through. I can't think of anything else to explain it apart from the music."

Christopher met Victoria at her cd signing a bit ago at the Virgin Megastore in Cardiff, Wales. The family told Victoria what had happened and Victoria was amazed. She said:
"I don't believe it. I think it's wonderful and Christopher is so brave."

Wow! Mel's on a role. Melanie has topped the charts in seven countires according to SpiceNews.com. In the UK Melanie reaches the 8th spot on the UK Top 75 Singles Chart. Not Forever?

Ben informs me that Mel B was on "The Big Breakfast Show (UK TV show) on Firday September 1st and she talked about her album and the Spice Girls album. Even though we've read the new Spice Girls title will be Forever, Mel B said they were still not sure on the title.

This may have been recorded earlier...but who knows. If the show claims to be live then...maybe they are still unsure of the album title.

Money Talk

according to a recent poll the Spice Girls are among the top earning Pop stars in the UK. Geri still made the top 10, but Mel C, Mel B, Victoria and Baby have taken in higher numbers with Mel B earning some more pounds than the other girls. Mel C, Victoria and Baby all earned 6 million punds this year (12 million dollars). Elton John tops the charts with a annual earning of 25 million pounds (50 million dollars).

New Spice World Tour!

According to some new report, Melanie C has spoken to the press about an upcoming Spice Girls Tour to promote their upcoming album, "Forever". Mel C, who kicks off her own solo tour this week, has told reporters that she was very enthusiastic about getting back with the pop group and tour the album. If possible, they would love to begin the tour in Dublin's Point Theater where the girls kicked off their last tour. melanie said it was very important to get the album out their and play it to people to see their reaction. As for the status of the album, Melanie said it was very much completed, it was only missing some finishing touches but was at the verge of being finished. She also added the tour would hopefully start sometime next summer at the very latest!

I'd like to see how they are going to plan the supposed Mel C North American and Japanese leg of the Northern Star tour to the already busy schedule...gues we'll have to wait and see.

Mel Wants To Be Adored

LONDON (Reuters) - Mel C, one of the four Spice Girls, has revealed she longs for an intimate relationship but not with a woman, denying rumors that she is a lesbian.
In an interview with the British tabloid The Mirror on Thursday, Melanie Chisholm, once known as Sporty Spice, said at first she was amused by the rumors that she was gay, but no longer.
``I used to think it was funny, but I've got a lot of fans who are lesbians and sometimes I get them coming up to me and saying: When are you going to come out?''
``I started feeling guilty because I wasn't gay. I was thinking maybe I should be a lesbian. Sometimes I wish I was because men are so crap. Do you know what I mean?''
Chisholm told the newspaper that the rapid rise to fame and fortune with the Spice Girls had taken its toll and she had to fight an eating disorder, paralyzing self-doubts and depression.
``It's taken me a long, long time to get my head around what has happened and get on with my life,'' she said.
Chisholm, who split from her most recent boyfriend J from the boy band Five in July, said the glamorous life style of a pop star doesn't make up for being without a partner.
``It gets lonely. I think the hardest thing to deal with is being on stage in front of tens of thousands of people and you're giving it all and then you go back to your hotel room and you feel so lonely.
``Everyone thinks I've got this fantastic life but if you haven't got a partner, then you're lonely. That's what everyone wants at the end of the day -- someone to call, someone to talk to. Instead, you sit there waiting for the buzz to go so you can fall asleep.
``My life as it is at the moment is almost faultless, but I would like a relationship. It's not going to solve all my problems, but it would be nice -- someone to come home to, to watch telly with. I suppose I just want someone to adore me,'' she said.
The rumors that she was gay started after the publication of a photograph that included Mel C's ``close friend'' Ying -- in fact the assistant to all the Spice Girls.
But while Chisholm can accept such rumors as part of the price she has to pay for her fame and fortune, she is angry because the stories have hurt Ying.
``She doesn't want to be famous. I get paid enough money to put up with it. It's part of my job, she doesn't. It's not fair on her and her family.''
