08-31-01 Stars Talk About Melanie C Ex boyfriend J Brown from boy band 5ive has spoken up about his break-up with Melanie C about a year ago. He said: "I just took my stuff and walked out. I never even phoned or anything because my head was battered. I left and never got in touch with her." He claims never really "loved" her. What a jerk! Lisa Left Eye Lopes also has talked a bit about her duet with Melanie C. This is what she had to say: "I would love dearly to hook-up with Mel C again. We've spoken about it and she's really keen on the idea too. The Spice Girls were massive in America, but it would be nice for Mel to have a hit of her own there. Maybe this will be the one." True that the singles haven't really played much, but I Turn To You was a massive hit for Mel in the US club scene. And that is big in itself.
08-31-01 Calgary Clarification A nice fan, Julie, wrote in to make a small clarification. Thank you very much Julie. "Good day, I thought I'd just clear something up for Mel C readers. You have archived on March 2001, that 15 fans got up on stage and well here's what was written: "Melanie C ran off stage after fans ran up on stage to be closer to her. Melanie C was finishing one of her Canadian gigs and was on the encore when approximaltey fifteen fans ran up on satge. When one of the girls tried to hug her, Melanie turned around and left the stage. An onlooker said that Melanie was performing I Turn To You when the incident occured. The onlooker also said that security was not probably expecting the fans to go on stage and weren't ready for the incident. Melanie C looked very frightened when she cut the song short and left. Sounds pretty scary to me too. Sure they are fans and all, but we all know how timid Melanie C is, and having fifteen people run right at you must be pretty frightening. We must remember that she is one of the Spice Girls, a highly respected solo artist and for such reason is always being hounded by paparatzi and all. She has to be careful about what she does and she was probably just playing it safe." This is untrue. I was at the concert in the 4th row and I can tell you exactly what happened. It was in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and yes it was the encore performance and yes it was "I Turn To You". However, these were like kids 4-16 years of age (and one mother it looked like). Melanie was just jumping up and down in the crowd like all of the fans. The security guards tried to pull them off stage, but Melanie told the guards that they were okay, just to leave them. Eventually, they left and Melanie did not cut her act short. She was fabulous! A picture perfect star! I just wanted to clear that up. I keep hearing varying stories on the subject, making Melanie look like she was upset or disturbed about the event and she wasn't."

Melanie C has already played Bonn and Roelie, a from from Holland, was able to watch the show. Roelie claims that Melanie C was great, she sang beautifully and looked gorgeous. Pictures of the sound check will be added to Roelie's site on Thursday ,hopefully, and there will be a link availble here for all you interested in seeing pics, and aren't we all. It seems that all the solo efforts finally had a toll on the Spice Girls life.
The Girls are set to meet in September to talk about solo efforts and the direction of the group. But one thing will be missing at the reunion, Posh Spice.
You see, it seems that Melanie B has co ordinated the event, and she has invited Mel C and Emma Bunton but no Victoria Beckham. The reason? Rumour has it that Melanie B is jealous that Victoria seems to be doing well as the last of the Spice Girls to go solo.
Let's face it, Melanie C was the one with the undeniable "talent". When she went solo Melanie B was annoyed that Melanie C preferred to promote her solo stuff than sit around doing nothing. Emma was the cute spice with lots of admirers. Scary, aka Melanie B, was the urban spice. The one that loved to grab all the attention. Does anyone remember "Spice Girls in America A Tour Story"? For someone who didn't want to be in the tape she sure grabbed a lot of the camera's attention. But Victoria and Geri where the ones that had "no vocal talent". Yet both Geri and Vicotria have proved ever so popular as celebrities that they sell copies no matter what. So Melanie B never expected to be the Spice Girl that'd be dropped off the Virgin label as a solo artist. This seems to be the origin of the jealousy. Ofcourse, Victoria is on her black book because Melanie B presumed she woould do worse and therefore Melanie B wouldn't be regarded as the failed Spice.
I think it's a shame that the group, being so good as it is, is allowing stupid childish jealousy tear them apart. They should have learned from the All Saints that in life you must learnt to co-operate and compromise. Melanie B seems to have a pushy streak in her. Geri gave in and left...Melanie C fought back and won the respect of the group...will Posh do the same or pull a Geri?
DJ Bliss from music group Faithless claims that there is a secret sixth member to the Spice Girls. The mystery girl who goes by the name of "Bev" is said to have been the real talent in the master tapes. DJ Bliss claims he remixed "Who Do You Think You Are", and it was Bev's vocals that hit all the hight notes. Bliss said without those vocals the other girls sounded like "chipmunks". Funnies thing is that DJ Bliss is an apparent major liar, she never remixed "Who Do You Think You Are", David Morales did. Virgin executives and the Spice Girls pr was quick to point out the lack of tact in Bliss's comment. Shame on that poor Dj, so hungry for attention that he needs to lie about the Spice Girls to get some publicity.

Melanie Chisholm is truly a one of a kind superstar. As a Spice Girl she has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, and has nine number one singles under her belt. As a solo artist, Melanie C is still fast arising onto the scene. The twenty-seven year old Liverpool native has two number one singles on her own. Melanie C hit number one in the UK with her duet with Left Eye Lisa Lopez on the R&B track 'Never Be The Same Again', and another number one on the club hit 'I Turn To You', which also hit number one on the US BIllboard Club Charts. Not to mention the Hex-Hector remix won a grammy award at the 2001 Grammy Awards this past February. Melanie C is clearly on the road to solo super-stardom.
Even though Melanie C is deep into her solo career she hasn't forgot about her Spice Girls pals, not even Geri Halliwell. "The Spice Girls are still very dear to my heart, we shared so much together. Even though were all doing our solo projects we still see each other an awful lot. Though I haven't seen Geri in ages, we're both on seperate sides of the globe." Melanie C says she supports all of the Spice Girls solo careers 100%.
"All of the girls are doing fantastic stuff, I was with Victoria in LA a couple weeks ago in the studio, her stuff is coming along brilliantly. We all support each other 100% in our solo careers, because we all agreed that we would each like to take time apart from the Spice Girls as a group and do our own work." Even though Melanie C is heavily envolved in her solo career she assures fans that she has not left the group, much to the dismay of the BRitish Press. "No, I haven't left the Spice Girls. I will never leave the Spice GIrls, we started something together, and we'll finish it together. The Spice Girls are not over as a group, we still have plenty to prove, just we'll do it in our own time."
So what is next for Melanie C? Family life? "I'd love to have a family one day, but right now I'm concentrating on my music, and I still have to find that man." Melanie C's love life has been well documented in the British Press, being romanticly linked to Robbie Williams, Spice Girls producer JAke Davies, and Jason 'J' Brown from boy band 5ive. Though Melanie C claims she still hasn't found 'THE ONE' yet, but she is looking. "No, I'm still single. I get into relationships, and they are so hard to keep, especially with people in the industry because the schedules are so tight, it's really hard to see each other."
Melanie C is the ultimate package, she's fit, beautifu, talented, and has a outgoing personality that is shown with her fans.

Melanie C's voice over on the the BBC1 documentary by Chris Terrill will be on today. Melanie C reads lyrics and poetry. This is what Melanie had to say about the voice-over.
"I saw Chris Terrill's film "Through the Eyes of the Old", and it really opened my eyes to the need for better communication between the generations. "Through the Eyes of the Young" was something I could really relate to and wanted to be involved in. I think it is so hard being young. When you're young, you've got so many expectaions of life and you feel that people have so many expectations of you. That can be enormous pressure. And then if you fulfill those expectations, there's different kind of pressure. The Spice Girls shot to superstardom in a very short time. We've always been example for young people out there who don't really have anything but dreams, but when you've had success at a very young age your priorities change. I'm 27 now and I've come to realise that there are other things in life that are just as valuble as wealth and fame. "Through the Eyes of the Young" celebrates so many different ways of being succesful and I think that is really important."
