On July 27th Melanie C played at Storsjoyran and she was great! She sang all the songs from "Northern Star" plus "When You're Gone" and "I Want You Back". She looked kinda tired and her voice was not as good as it is usually but it was still a great performance. The picture is from the concert.

Lately Showtime has been using Melanie C's "I Turn To You" as the background music for their adds about their programs. It's a great way for Melanie C to reach more American households....the only bummer is that her name is not mentioned at all.

A fan write in to tell us that Melanie C has played her concert in Turkey and she has won hearts over. Designer Mutlu Gundogdu greeted Melanie upon arrival. Her reception was great and she rocked the house. The Turkish people now await a new concert from the Spice Girls and other solo members.

new picture at the dock Wow! Melanie C has toned it up for her last gig in the UK.

Melanie played all her usual songs and dedicated Northern Star to Liverpool...again. She gave Northern Star, Closer and Why a tropical/summery feel and up tempo songs such as I Turn To You where mixed into a retro/rock style.

Melanie also brought up a fan and allowed him to propose to his girlfriend on stage. During her rendition of Feel The Sun, Melanie forgot a few of the words and cursed a litte, but fans didn't seem to care.

Melanie C wore a white top with four pictures, jeans with the pattern of the sky. Her hair was wicked! Blonde with brown roots, and soft curls. She also looked much trimmer, her arms a compact solid tan. She looks great, and she finally revealed her toned tummy during Feel The Sun, something she promised Aemrican fans she would not do until she trimmed up. "I'm really excited about the gig. As soon as it was mentioned to me I jumped at the chance. It will be fantastic-and I can even walk to the big top and back. It's wonderful isn't it? This is what Liverpool needs, more of these big events"- Mel C

Melanie C will be doing a voiceover for a tv documentary called "Through The Eyes Of The Young". Apparently, she's going to be reading extracts of (other people's) lyrics and poems in it. There's a little interview with her about it in this week's Radio Times. It should be broadcast on BBC1 on Wednessday 1st August.

C4 is set to air yet another Spice Girls documentary. The new documentary will focus around the solo life of the original five girl line-up. The documentary will air next month in Britain and is said to be composed of "interviews and archive materials". The documentary is being produced by the same people who made last Christmas' "Spice Girls On Film" documentary.

Remember, the book is not official but Northernstar96 is trying to get Melanie C to ok the concept...she has had no luck contacting her as of yet...but she is still trying. Melanie C spoke to Galaxy Radio about her concerns for Geri Halliwell's health.

"I have had problems with obsessive training and eating behaviour,"

"It's very worrying, but I think she(Geri) looks phenomenal, I just hope that she's healthy."

According to the Mirror, Mel says although she doesn't see very much of Geri, she still feels very close to her.

"I still love her to bits," she said. "we all do. We all care a great deal and just hope she's ok."

Geri Halliwell has also said some very nice things about Mel C in recent interviews. The journalist asked he how it felt to be the only member of the Spice Girls to make it as a solo artist. Geri was quick to mention that she loved Mel C's solo work and that Melanie C has done phenomenal...and she was proud of her.

Rumour

Melanie C was on a local radio station in England and told reporters she was very happy with the way her tour was going to come to a final end in Liverpool, exactly where it began. Her gig at the Kings Dock is going to be extra special because her opening act is Atomic Kitten, and the three girls that make up that pop group are also from Liverpool...Melanie C also told the radio station that she was going to the studio and that her next album would be out next year....and that if things went well she would release a single at the end of the year. The single would be on the soundtrack of a movie but she didn't wish to comment more on that possibility because all things were yet not 100% in the clear. Finally she said she wished the press would stop being concerned with the size of her arse and instead mention the fact that she has sold millions of records and sold out concerts.

You tell'em Melanie! Hope the single does work out...it'd be great to end this year with another great Melanie C release...maybe a dace track?

It seems more Spice break-up rumours arise. Yet the validity of the rumours are very slim. MTV UK posted up news of the Spice Girls secret meeting on their website, but it seems they messed up on the date, since according to MTV the girls are planning to release their third album "Forever". Yikes! Talk about mess up.

In other news, it seems that Melanie C's visit to her personal trainer also includes a test of urine and saliva samples in order to compose a strict diet that promises to put the singer back into tip top shape. Then again, Melanie C hasn't confirmed such stories...doesn't it sound a little too much Sci-fi to you? Nonetheless it'd be a cool test.

Check the TV column for dates of the re-run for "Everybody Talk About Pop Music"....it was crummy that MTV barely mentioned the Spice Girls and didn't really mention Melanie C's participation in the program. I also think they suck cause they had dumb Boy George call the Spice Girls talentless....this coming from a man who had to leave the singing world and become a DJ instead. Not that their is anything wrong with being a DJ...but I'd prefer to be the one creating the music...not mixing and spinning. Give me a mic! Ha ha

Mel C is denying reports she uses the same fitness trainer as Madonna

Sporty Spice was criticised by the British press after swapping her super-trim figure for a curvier look last year.

But Mel told Radio 1 she doesn't share the same instructor as the Queen of Pop: " I am working with a trainer at the moment, but I don't think he's worked with Madonna."

"I think I'm just trying to find a happy medium like everyone, I'm trying to have a healthy attitude towards both fitness and diet," she said.

Melanie C was present at the London premiere of "Tomb Raider". Melanie C talked a bit about her forthcoming album. She said she would hit the studio as soon as her last summer gig was performed. She also said the plans for the album at this time is to include rock tracks and more dance tracks.

Emily wrote in and let me know that Melanie C will be performing and doing an interview on the Oxygen network's show titled Trackers. The show airs on Friday July 6th at 5 pm. Thanks Emily!
