On July 4th at 10:35 pm BBC 1 will air their Madonna Special in which Melanie C was interviewed about her idol. Here is what Mel had to say about Maddy:
I think it's quite fair to say that I am....a rather large Madonna fan, in more ways than one. I was definitely one of the wannabes. Yeah I had you know the lace fingerless gloves, and like waering like silly odd socks and poncy little boots and stuff....I've still got a lot of the crucifixes actually (laughs).
I think she's very good in an A&R sense at discovering new talent. I think she's got a very good ear, she knows what she likes, and she knows how to approach a market. And she knows what's going to sell.
I think it's very fair to say that Madonna was doing the girl power thing a long time before the Spice Girls were around
The first time I met her I was in New York in 1998. I'd just finished the Spice Girls tour, and I was in New York on my own actually, just before returning home. And I got a phone call from home saying, Madonna's(on the phone for you) and I was like yeah right. Anyway sort of put the phone down. And the phone rang again, and it was someone on the phone, I've got Madonna here for you. And I was like someone's on a wind up here, anyway, you can't mistake that voice, you know it was Madonna on the phone. And she's heard I was in town and she'd invited me out to dinner, she was going out to dinner that night with some friends. And that was the first time I met her properly. I met her once with the girls, at the MTV awards in New York. So that was the first time I actually went out on a social occasion with Madonna. And it was very nice. She was lovely. Because I'm sure she's quite used to people crumbling around her. I'd been a massive fan of hers for forever you know, she's a big idol of mine and I was quite nervous about metting her. But she's got this air about her that makes you feel very esy in her presence. And at the end of the day you know, she's just a girl too. So, it was very, very nice experience.
Express Yourself is one of the routines that I definitely know and I used to really like doing that one, cos it's the bit where she shows her bra, and that bit where she holds her crotch. And that was pretty cool. And I like that dance routine, cos that's the one where they had the boys. And she was like really dominating over the boys, that was a very good routine, good song, good video. She's always got a wicked videos. Wicked, wicked videos.

It's not a big cry from the last look, but I think it's a summer fix-up and a far nicer looking presentation. Hope you all enjoy the new colors and images. I do. I'm hoping to burn a few little things and use the cable connection at my parents to upload a few music files for you all...I know I am not too good at that....but I am trying. I just don't feel it necessary to put mp3's up that are from singles....because it affects sales. But I do think rare tracks need to be accessable to fans. So check back soon for the rare tracks that were never released as singles.

Melanie C will also be on MTV's "MTV 20th: Everybody Talk About...Pop Music" on July 14th @ 1:00 pm ET The program is based around pop music in the last decade and what the artist that have taken part in it think about the current pop culture. Other artists include Latin pop heart throb Enrique Iglesias, American pop princess Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child and much much more pop icons.

"My pieces are practical and minimal," he says. "They fit in so easily with more dramatic furnishings that people often fail to notice them. I don't have an ego problem with that, it's the intangible experience that counts."
The Corrs took advantage of Baholydhin's genius for designing and calmly co-ordinating an entire event- music, lighting, image projection, VIP passes, coat tags, staff uniforms, special furniture- for the launch party of their last album; Madonna has hired him to plan her end of tour party in July.

Melanie C will be interviewed in a new Canadian TV program titled "Sonic Temple". The TV show interview was recorded while Melanie C was on tour in Toronto but was never aired until now. The show airs this Saturday at 10pm.

There's Only One Madonna, BBC One's program about Madonna, will not only show the life of the diva but it will also interview other pop divas about their idol...Madonna. Melanie C, Britney Spears and Kylie Minougue are among the guests. Jean Paul Gautier and others who have helped create the Madonna hype will also be interviewed for the program. If you live in the UK be on the look out for the show.

Rumoured Mardi Gras gig
Melanie C is going to be playing a few music festivals between now and August, when she will concentrate on the recording and completion of her follow-up solo album. It is now rumoured that Melanie C will play Mardi Gras, but it has not been confirmed. This is how the schedule would look if Mardi Gras is true.

Although her world tour is now officially over, Melanie C continues to hit the spotlight in the USA. The local paper in my home town ran a story on her today. I was amazed because, although the report sounds like straight out of Reuters, we are speaking about a small town in the southern most part of Virginia running an article on a singer who according to the US press "has sold moderate copies of her cd". In other words the cd has sold but it has not been in the USA's top 10 at any given point.
The article talks about Melanie's thoughts about how the Spice Girls phenomenon has helped and hindered her solo career. She goes on to mention that without the Spice Girls she would not have had the funding or the experience to be a solo artist. She said that she felt hindered by people's preconception of members of girl and boy bands. She then mentioned that her solo work was very personal to her and that she got inspirations from artists she admired, like Fiona Apple and Eminem to mention just a few.
As announced earlier by Melanie herself, there are a few music festivals that she is scheduled to perform at while she hits the studio and records her follow-up album. Here are three of the dates:

Ok, since not much is going on I have been chilling and redoing a few unfinished pages. The Discography has been updated. It looks much better I think. It has all the highest positions each single has had, the release year and the track listings. Hopefully a neat way to keep it organized. The tour page needs a review...so if anyone saw the US leg of the tour I need a short review. I also need one from Europe, Asia, Africa and Canada. Please...a short review and track listing if possible. I appreciate it. If not I will use one off of Dotmusic or Worldpop...but that ain't half as fun now is it? As announced earlier, Melanie C performed on May 31st as Bon Jovi's opening act in Stockholm on Bon Jovi's first night of their world tour. By the look of the picture, and the type of venue, I belive our Melanie went hardcore on this performance. Just look at her face...she must be singing "Goin'Down"!
