It seems that the tabloids are at it again. After some more comments on Melanie's weight, it seems a decent journalist wrote back in defense of the super star. In an article where Emily Sheffield wrote about the Monte Carlo grand prix weekend she told people how Melanie C was healthy and not fat. She said "You could be forgiven for calling her fat only if you stood her between the incredible shrinking Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham". Melanie was reported to have spent the time in Mote Carlo with Steve Coogan and Nick Moran.

And we all await the talk about Melanie's great vocals on the Watson duet....but ofcourse everyone ignores that to be trashy. Nice going journalists!....thanks Emily for being truthful.

Besides heading out to open for Bon Jovi on the 31st on his Stockholm date...Melanie C has been announced to be part of the King's Dock music fesivities in Liverpool. Other acts include Gabrielle(July 6th), Tom Jones(July 23rd), Jools Holland(July 5th), James(July 8th), Michael Ball(July 16th), Status Quo and the Beach Boys(July 21st) and a few others. The performers will each headline on their own dates. Atomic Kitten are expected to be Melanie C's opening act on her date...July 20th.

Melanie C has told fans to get ready for the fourth Spice Girls cd to come this Christmas and the World Tour next year. Melanie C, present at the Music Of The Millenium show, told fans that the Spice Girls were to record some new tracks, probably covers, and they will also remix the old classics on their upcoming fourth release.

Melanie C has updated her website with a small short message talking about what is coming up this month. Important notes are : BBC Music Live Airs May 28th! It will include to performances...one duet titled "Barcelona" with Russell Watson (previously mentioned opera star) and a solo titled "Aren't You Kinda Glad We Did?". She will then open for Bon Jovi on May 31st at their Stokholm concert! She will then hit the recording studio and begin work on her follow up second album! Can't wait!

Rumoured Tour

It seems Miss Chisholm will not only have a busy 2002 releasing her follow up album, the Spice Girl is determined to tour with her bandmates. Talking to C3 Melanie B,aka Scary Spice, announced plans for a solo tour of her own and a "full on" Spice Girls tour at the ned of 2002. The Spice Girls will tour and perform group and solo tracks. No official word has been announced to confirm the tour....and as all Spice fans know the tour has been mentioned on several accounts so until official word just take this annaouncement very lightly.

If you missed seeing Melanie C in the US you are in for a special treat. Recorded on April 4th, Melanie C's House of Blues concert in Anaheim will be broadcast on the internet by HOB.com on June 3rd. Melanie C has begun work on her follow up album and it seems a duet will most likely appear on the album. But with who? Melanie C and Russell Watson have met recently to practise a duet at the BBC studios in Oxford Road. The duet will be performed live at the Salford tenor's BBC Music Live concert in Leeds next week. The two stars are due to sing "Barcelona", Manchester Online can reveal. The track had previosuly been recorded by Russell with Happy Monday's Shaun Ryder ( I don't know who these people are).

"The great thing about what's happened to me over the past 18 months is I get the opportunity to work with some of the biggest stars in the world and I don't think it gets any bigger than the Spice Girls....And I'm getting a chance to work with my favourite Spice Girl."

The opera star, who celebrates the longest stay at the top of the classical charts after 31 weeks, has also revealed tahtt hsi is not the only time the two will pair up.

"Mel is also doing a duet on the forthcoming album so that's exciting....We have song writers busily writing away at the moment."

The concert is due to be broadcast at 7:10 pm on the Bank Holiday Monday May 28th...shame of you if you miss it. I sure hope someone encodes it cause it is destined to be great!

Sarah from the A*Teens has struck the Spice Girls and told them to call it a day. The singer is a self-professed fan but thinks it is unfair that the girls not decide that they have split up. She further comments on the lack of enthusiasm from the group....but does agree that the solo thing seems to be the way to go.

I think that is a little harsh from a fan. She does have somewhat of a point, the girls do need to get their act together...but I sure don't want them to split.

Our Melanie has managed to get back into the spot light after she appauled a few fans at her York Barbican Centre venue. Melanie C was reported to hav used the F**** word on several occasions and used the one finger salute during her rendition of "Northern Star". The salute occured at the moment when she tells fans "Don't give in to their lies and goodbyes". It seems that some parents thought the vocabulary was inappropriate for her young fans....but Melanie's reps have stood up and said that like any other person Melanie tends to slip and use harsh words at emotional times and that it was never ment to upset anybody.

I think all the more power to Melanie. She is a great artist, awesome performer and I do agree that...like anybody else...she does say some swear words at odd times but they are emotional moments and that to me is forgiveable.

Speaking via her website, Melanie C has commented on Geri's risky move of covering The Weather Girls "It's Raining Men" song. Melanie C comments that it is hard to make a cover of songs, especially The Weather Girls who are complete divas.

In her constent support to children and health, Melanie C has stood up against smoking. Melanie is going to be appearing on an advertisment in the UK's cartoon network where she says "I would rather kiss a baboons butt than kiss a smoker"

It is rumoured that Melanie C and Dan Cadan have broken up. Dan reportedly told the press that Melanie was too forward with him, and her recent comments while on tour made him think twice about them. She reprotedly said she was seeing someone, and that it was early days. According to Dan he has only gone out with Melanie C twice. He also reportedly said she was a nice gril and enjoyed her company. He also added he had let her down slowly cause he feared she would slip back into her well publicized depression which she has reportedly kicked to the curb.

Poor Melanie! Dan doesn't sound too smart. He had the best girl out there, and he let her go out of fear. He also wasn't too smart to talk to the British press about it.

Rumour
Melanie C is suppsoed to be recording an Unplugged Album for MTV. The project is rumoured to include duets with Bryan Adams and Lisa Left Eye Lopes and a new rack called "Time Is Up" which is rumoured to have been recorded a year ago but never released. This album would definetly be a great idea and would give her some more time to work on her follow-up album since fans won't feel as if they've been left out...which they shouldn't anyway. I hope this rumour is true! I'd buy it for sure.

According to Victoria Beckham's sister's ex-boyfriend, Noel, the Spice Girls have not spoken to each other in months. He says Victoria has told her family that they are most likely not going to work together again in a while because of differences and the fact that they are all invloved to heavily on solo endevours. Melanie C, she claims, is the one who has distanced herself the most.

I don't know what to make of this. First of all it is a rumour, second of all it sounds pretty odd that Victoria would be pointing fingers at who's fault it was that the Spice Girls haven't done much together...so I wouldn't believe it at all, especially since it is the ex-boyfriend of her sister....seriously.
