It seems to have been confirmed that Melanie C's duet on "Bohemian Rhapsody" has not been included on Russell Watson's "Emcore" album which was released on Oct 29 according to HMV.co.uk. It was rumoured that differences between the two records company caused the track not to make the cut. Melanie C will still feature on Russell Watson's dvd/video of his Leeds concert. The DVD will be released, as annoucned earlier, Dec. The video should be currently available since it was supposed to be released the 29 of October along with the new album.

According to HMV Mel C will not be on Russell Watson's "Encore" out on the 29th of October. If you can't go to the store to see the listing...please be patient and wait till we let you know if she is on the track listing. The only way to be 100% sure is to wait till the album is released.
In other news, Melanie C will be on Russell Watson's "Voice-Live" which is, a video recording of his concert in Leeds where he performed with guests Melanie C and Lulu. This was when Melanie performed her duet and solo. This will be out in video on Oct 29 and DVD later on Dec 11 but you can pre-order it at hmv.co.uk.

Melanie C has been nominated for Best Female Solo Artist at this years Smash Hits award. She is running against 10, including former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.
The Spice Girls are Britains most recognized group, yet in the past years they have not received much support in the Smash Hits Awards which are equivalent to the MTV Music Awards. Instead the girls have been slagged twice in a row. Lets get Melanie C the recognition she deserves. Let's give her the Best Female Award. It's great she has been nominated.

There isn't much about Melanie C at the moment but I believe this is of tremendous value.
According to the Sun, Melanie B has left the Spice Girls. This could mean the end of the pop force that began the resurgence of girl groups and pop music in general. In this days where pop has began to diverge into hip-hop and r'n'b influences it was hard to believe that the force that formed and nurtured pop music would stick around for long. Melanie B apparently had a fight with Victoria Beckham after Victoria gave her no sympathy for being dropped by Virgin records. The Spice Team is also being blamed, for Melanie B claims they gave Victoria far more importance than they gave her solo deal. Melanie B has resigned the management team that manages the Spice Girls and has also pulled back from deals with Spice Girls PR- Alan Edwards. What lies instore for the Spice GIrls may be the end, the group once had to deal with the departure of it's fifth memeber, Geri Halliwell. Halliwell also left abruptle over a rapture with Melanie B.
More news on this will be posted as more is uncovered. If indeed the Spice Girls break-up this could mean a stronger push for solo works, and more Melanie C. I doubt the girls will compete with each other, atleast Victoria, Emma and Mel C won't. But as Geri has proven once already, once you are out of the band the loyalty and friendship seems to be dropped aswell.
According to new sales figures from Spice Girls Limited, the Spice Girls company, the girls have lost about 38,000 punds this year. The girls had reported a 1.6 million pounds profit in 1999.
Once having had merchandise deals with Pepsi, Cadbury,and Polaroid fans where able to get Spice Girls merchandise in almost any market. But with the low sales figures of "Forever" and all the solo efforts that have put a stop to group efforts, it seems the strain has reached the company and not the members that make it up. Critics now believe that the girls split is even more likely since financial loss is in view.
I honestly think they can make this up. "Forever" could have sold more had they seriosuly released more tracks off the album as singles. There are some awesome tracks in that album....and definetely in the vein of what is "in". I think if the girls came together and made a tour next year....they could make up for the loss. They each have solo albums and materials. There fan base has grown as people have seen their more serious solo sides...and I think if the tour showcased group and solo efforts...it'd definetely sell out.
Dotmusic has made a report on Melanie C's follow up album. Talking to fans via her website, Melanie C has promised a more rock edge to her music. At the moment the star claims to really be into guitars. Favorite artists at the moment? She enjoys Linkin Park, Sum 41, Alien Ant Farm and Papa Roach. She also has stated eagerness to write music with Queen's Brian May. Lisa Left Eye Lopez also wants to work with Melanie C. Lisa was eager to have Melanie C on "Supernova", Lisa's solo album, but time conflicts did not allow. Lisa is hopeful Mel will take her up on the offer for another duet on Melanie C's second solo album.
Melanie C is set to meet with Phil Thornalley(co-writer to many songs on Northern Star) this week to start writing the much anticipated second album. The album will be released 2002.
In a very quick way, the investigation to find Mel C's stalker has come to an end, as a 30 year old Dutch was caught mailing a parcel to the singer. He is now under custody of the Dutch police and he will be dealt with in Holland and not in England.

Spice Girl Mel C is under police protection after death threats from a stalker. Sporty Spice called in Scotland Yard last week after a chilling cassette-tape message arrived at her North London home.
Part of the sinister recording said: "This is the day we are both going to die."
Detectives have mounted a round-the-clock guard on Mel's 5million apartment and an undercover policewoman is with her when she goes out.
She believes a man has been following her and that she has been watched coming and going from her home in a converted Victorian hospital.
CID officers are also monitoring her telephones and her mail.
The 27-year-old millionairess, real name Melanie Chisholm, started receiving sexually explicit and threatening letters last year.
She ignored them, but the tapes forced her to change her mind and go to the police. A spokesman for the star said last night: "As you may imagine it's been a very worrying time, but she can't praise the police enough. They've handled it with great tact and sensitivity. Through their help, she's been able to get on with her life."
A friend added: "She is a tough cookie and understands that when you are a star, you attract the attentions of a few unpleasant people. However, this has gone from being the usual besotted fan sexual nonsense to thinly veiled threats of murder and torture. Most of the time that kind of filth is sent to the record company, but this is someone who has clearly gone to the trouble of finding out exactly where she lives, which has increased her worries considerably."
Detectives have also given security advice to Baby Spice, Emma Bunton, who owns an apartment in the same complex.
Police are examining the tape and hope to find clues to the stalker's identity.They have called in a voice analyst and checked the packaging for DNA. They have also enlisted a psychological profiler.
A police source said: "This is a very unpleasant matter and we are taking it very seriously. The tapes are menacing and frightening and we are doing our utmost to find out who is behind them. When we find out, they will be arrested on serious harassment charges and possibly others. In the meantime, we are keeping an eye on her."

Mel participated in the launch of a building project that will be used as another wing to Liverpool's Alder Hey Childrens Hospital. The wing will be used to house cancer patients. Melanie C lost her grandparents to the disease and has used her celebrity status to bring more light and seriousness to the disease.
Russell Watson's new album entitled "Encore" will be released October 29th. Melanie C duets with Watson on "Bohemian Rhapsody" which is a featured track on "Encore". Melanie C first worked with Watson at his BBC Live special in which he duet with Melanie C covering "Barcelona", yet another Queen song.
Melanie C has updated her website and has let fans now that the song will not be released as a single. The track will only be available on the "Encore" album as planned.
