Hi everyone, still have nothing to report to you all. It seems Melanie's still keeping a low profile, but we should start seeing more of her as the due date for her first single off her second album approaches (very early next year...we might even start hearing it by late Dec early Jan).

This isn't Melanie C news, but I wanted all visitors to see this post. I'm starting my last year in college this week, so it'll be a bit hard to get things all going. Please be patient, atarting next week all things will hopefully flow easily. I've just uploaded all the audio-files I promised. I hope you all enjoy. Please let me know if any problems arise.

These are some screen grabs Claire sent me taken from GMTV the day following the "Bend It Like Beckham" movie premiere. The grabs are from a brief interview Melanie C gave in which she talked about her collaboration on the album and spoke wonderfully about the movie, the director of the movie, and the cast.

According to the UK tabloid, The Sun, Simon Fuller, ex-manager of the Spice Girls and new manager of solo Emma Bunton, claims that the movie "Clueless" was his inspiration for the Spice Girls image.

He claims "I felt young girls being sassy and funny was a concept that could be expanded on."

My personal opinion is: the Spice Girls were a group before they came into Simon's office. He might have helped give them a physical make-over thus all the colorful clothes and all, but the personalities had to be there to begin with, you can't create "sassy and funny" people, you can only encourage it.

First, Melanie C fans will have to wait and see if Melanie C features on Justin Timberlake's solo album. As announced previously, he was rumoured to have openly expressed desires to work with Melanie C, but with the album complete it's very uncertain if the duet would be possible or if it has been included in the album. His debut album will be released in Nov with the first single in Sept...unless Melanie C is a surprise vocalist fans should not hold their breath that this duet will occur. It has been nearly impossible to find news related to Justin that supports the rumours, and the record company has neither denied nor confirmed such "desires". On another note, Janet Jackson, who was also included in the rumoured list of hopeful collaborators, will be featured on his album according to MTV and Jive Records.

Second, keep the mail coming. It's great to hear all your opinions on the recent rumours. Is Melanie C doing double time by singing back-up on Nic and Nat's Appleton release entitled "Fantasy"? Is Melanie C singing back up for her good friends the Appleton sisters?

Well it seems that the back-up vocals that are being sung have fans confused on whether it is or isn't Melanie C. Do we have a Melanie inpersonator or is Melanie C really singing the back-up?

In a recent interview, Bryan Adams mentioned how Melanie C was a very spirited soulful person. He continued on mentioning how great friends they are. Bryan also said Melanie C was the perfect "surprise" guest vocalist for "When You're Gone".

Having written the track first, Bryan considered that the track needed a special female vocalist to sing the track. He bumped into Melanie C at a Hotel and later on saw her again. At the moment of their second meeting Melanie mentioned she was writing a solo album. Bryan then proceeded to invite her to the studio in order to record the duet.

Unfortunately there has been no major news to post.

This is the latest scan of Now magazine. They have a brief report on Melanie C, and they seem to have taken a leaf off of the internet.

Note: Now magazine is the second magazine/tabloid to describe Melanie's Northern Star as a number one album. Northern Star was "number 1" as in it sold very well, but it didn't make it to the number 1 position on the charts, it's highest entry was at number 4. They also mention Goin'Down as a "smash hit" despite it being voted the worse video and song at the Smash Hit Polls early 2000, by far the least "accepted" of all the singles.

Rumour

Yet more keeps flying into our office. It seems that even stars want a little Melanie C.

Justin Timberlake, 'Nsync, is working on a solo album, Nick Carter beware. And who is Justin working with? He's been rumoured to be looking for collaborations with many artists including: Melanie C, Rob Thomas, Nelly, Usher, Angie Stone and Janet.

Nothing has been confirmed by his record company, Jive Records, who haven't even decided on a release date. Apparently this cd is rumoured to be a "hot" album and is being kept under heavy gaurd...especially as other boy band members decide to pull the Spice Girls move. Will 'Nsync and BSB be closer to their end?

The Melanie C and Appleton sisters story(read below) has neither been confirmed nor denyed. BUT I believe it's safe to say it might not have been the band as no other mention to this story has arrisen online...not even in the UK tabloids!

Rumour

It seems that when Nicole and Natalie Appleton performed their debut single together on CD:UK, H_Brit is positive that their back-up band was Melanie C's band!

Could this potential sharing mean anything for the future? Will Melanie C and the Appletons have to plan out the tours together. All three girls are pretty good friends, and many singers share bands...but when both are releasing albums a couple of months apart, and both artists will most likely want to promote the albums respectively, will their be issues?

I guess Melanie C fans will have to keep an eye out for this one. The Appletons performance will be on ITV2 again tomorrow as the show re-airs. I don't have local listings, so if you live in an area that airs the show please check your local tv guide.

Melanie C is praying for a hit.

Melanie is taking no chances with her second album it seems she has been having chats to God to make sure it's a hit.
And the ex-SPICE GIRL has worked out a time-saving technique as she rushes to get in shape for the release by combining prayer sessions with jogging.
Mel is finishing the follow up to her No1 hit Northern Star and hopes to release the first single from it by the end of the year.
A witness said: "She was working out in Santa Monica when she suddenly got down on her haunches and started praying.
"I don't know if she was praying to God or praying to her instructor to give her a break."
"Or maybe she's just praying her singing career doesn't go the same way as the other Spice Girls."

First of all Melanie C told fans in person that the album was coming out Feb 2003 and the first single on Jan 2003...so maybe they are a bit right if they mean the first single will air in Dec. but won't be released on cd till early Jan. Anyway...I think the report is a bit silly. Melanie C may be praying...but while she walks? Nah...it looks like stretching to me.

Just dropping ya'll a line or two, don't want you to think I'm forgetting about the site. Melanie C's just keeping a low profile and working on the album, so there aren't too much headlines or news online or in the tabloids....especially not after she cleared up the rumours(scroll down).

"There have been a few stories circulating in the press lately about me, my record label, the track listing for the second album and the release date. Well it's time I straightened a few things out!

Let's start with Virgin Records. I've had a fantastic relationship with my label for the past six years and I still do. They have never tried to enforce a delayed release of the album for any reason whatsoever. I had originally hoped to release the album in October/November 2002 but I needed more time. That was my decision. We are now aiming for early 2003. It's amazing how often the press try to conjure up tension between the artist and the record company ‚ makes exciting reading I suppose. Anyway, I'm very pleased with how the album's coming along and so are my record company. It is such an old cliché to roll out those 'nasty bosses at record label demand female artist loses weight' type lines. As if! My record label are interested in the music I make. I'm not signed to a modelling agency, for f**k's sake. Another myth is that I would be avoiding a release around the same time as Melanie B and Geri have books being published. Firstly, I won't have nearly finished my album in time and secondly, I'm releasing an album of songs - I'm not writing a book.

We were having a laugh in the office this morning about some of the track names being suggested by the newspapers for the album. In the Letters section a few months back I mentioned that one of the tracks is called Here It Comes Again ‚ they got that one right, but that's the only one! Check out some of these mythical titles: Come Over To My Bed, It's Not Fair, and Bite Me! Where the hell did they come from? bit too kinky for me! They also talked about the track 'You Taught Me' which was a demo from years and years ago!

So as you can see, all is good with me and album number #2. You'll have to wait a few more months for your first listen but I'm hoping you'll think it was worth waiting for.
