Melanie C graces the cover of Now Magazine. Inside is a brief story about Melanie's follow-up album and how she wanted to quit show-biz. They also mention how happy she is with Thomas Starr.
APRA and EMI Music Pub have updated their catalogue once more, and this time more Melanie C songs have been uploaded. Here are the tracks that are on both sites. There are a few on EMI that are not listed on APRA so we can assume they won't be released.
Songs co-written and performed by Melanie C according to both sites:
Full of Fire - performed by Melanie C
Songs co-written but not performed by Melanie C according to both sites:
Let's Love - no performing artist but co-written by her
Songs found on both but unsure if written by Melanie C:
Waiting - written by Watson-Melanie-Bernadette but no performing artist
tracks that are on EMI Music Pub But Not APRA:
Water
Melanie C and the rest of the Spice Girls feature in the latest Maxim Blenders with Christina Aguilera on the cover.
Inside there is a small "girl group" review and the Spice Girls are listed as one of the top girl group of the past 50 or so years. A picture of the girls, Geri included, accompanies the small article.
A small "where are they now" section mentions Melanie C's second album being released in 2003. They also mention how Victoria Emma and Melanie B were without a solo contract(not true cause Victoria just signed on to Telstar) and how Geri Halliwell is now a UN ambassador (they oddly don't mention her solo success...only Melanie C's solo success and solo material is mentioned).
I think that it's good promotion for her to start making her way into the US market. It's a small mention, but it shows that some interest is still out there for her as a solo artist in the US.
A scan will be made available as soon as I can get to my scanner. I'm on fall break and am far away from home.
Melanie C's vocal coach, Carrie Grant, is working on a talent-search Popstar-type show. Carrie Grant was interviewed a few days before the show aired. When asked who was the most naturally talented person she ever worked with, Carrie relpied Melanie C. Carrie then told the reporters that Melanie C's upcoming album, intitled "Reason", was brilliantly wicked.
Carrie also informed a contestant that Melanie c had been watching the show (reminds me of Pop Idol when Victoria was hooked and talked openly about her favorites with the press). Carrie then informed contestant Katie that Melanie C had voted for her because of her great rendition of "Papa Don't Preach".
In this weeks Heat Magazine, Melanie is mentioned. These are the two pictures included in the magazine.
Heat also had to say: "Howeverm we were delighted to see a few stars looking good, including Mel C, who we haven't seen out in public since, well, we can't remember when. And very glamorous the Spice Girl was looking too."
Melanie does look gorgeous in those pictures. But, what is she holding up in the first one?
These are "cleaned up" images from Corbis.
MEL C has spoken for the first time of the kidnap ordeal of former SPICE GIRLS bandmate VICTORIA BECKHAM.
At the EMI aftershow party, the former Sporty Spice, said the alleged plot to snatch Posh and her two sons - which saw the subsequent arrest of five men - was "horrific and terrible". She said: "I don't understand why anybody should go through this. My thoughts are with her." Mel, showing off her stunning new slimline figure, also quashed rumours of a Spice Girls comeback tour. She said: "I have no plans to get back with the Spice Girls."
Note: This is a report from TheSun...a tabloid. We've never taken tabloids seriously at MelCNews.com(Melanie-C-News.com), and we encourage you not to either. Many times Melanie C has been quoted out of content, making her statements sound a bit harsh to her past. But, fans will know how the tabloids love "stories" that sell, and "drama" sells.
Here are more pictures from Rex Features of Melanie C at the EMA's this past Thursday. She looks stunning in these pictures!
Here is another one Juliana found of Melanie C at the EMI aftershow party.
Here's another picture of Melanie C at the red carpet. The Sun labeled the picture: Hot Spice....Melanie C looking slim.
Here's a picture of Melanie C at the red carpet.
Konstantinos has sent me these screen grabs which are of great quality.
Carl alsos has posted these online for us fans who were deprived of watching Melanie.
Tamir has also created these beautiful grabs.
I believe we've know been able to see that Melanie C was in Barcelona despite the rumours that she had not arrived and despite her not being listed among the presenters. I've gotta watch the EMA's now cause it seems like she has a few minutes to talk to one of the hosts.
Doesn't our Melanie look hot in her leather top and perfect fit jeans(I believe they are jeans)?
I've emailed EMI's MusicPub requesting information about Melanie C's new songs that had recently been uploaded to the site (scroll down to Nov 09 for list of songs).
This was the email I was returned:
"Dear J,
According to information provided with the new Mel C titles you query below, they are to be included on her upcoming album. Unfortunately we do not have any information regarding the album release date and until the album is released there is always the possibility that certain titles will not be included.
I hope that this information is helpful.
"
The titles I asked about were: Sixty Seconds, Never Getting Over You, Here It Comes Again, Living Without You, Help Me Help You, So Long and "the other newly catalogued songs". We atleast now know that these are new songs and not songs written last time around and just recently catalogued.
Back after an exhausting recording session in the US, Melanie C and Thomas Starr took the streets and went shopping together at Bond Street, London, UK.
The happy couple are very much inlove by the looks of the pictures, and are we looking at rings?!
Melanie C is back in London taking a break from putting the final touches to "Reason" her follow-up album to the smash hit album "Northern Star". She'll be going to tonight's EMA in Barcelona.
USA fans that receive MTV2 on their TV's will be able to view the EMA this Thursday Nov 14th, tomorrow, LIVE! USA fans can watch the show again as it re-airs on Friday Nov 22nd at 8 PM EST and Sunday Nov 24 at 9 PM EST.
MTV2 will broadcast live from Barcelona, and remember, Melanie C will be presenting an award as her management and website have confirmed and stated.
European fans will be able to view the EMA's live on their local MTV stations on Thursday Nov 14th, tomorrow.
Hiya! Thanks for the recent emails ya'll. You're all the greatest Melanie C fans and website visitors.
I'd like to take a second to apologize for the recent typo with the EMA dates...it is this Thursday November the 14 (I kept referring it to Thursday Nov 11 when infact it was Thursday Nov 14th!)
I've been very busy with school, but that's no excuse. I'll try my hardest to get to your emails quicker and actually check them daily as opposed to once a week, especially right now as so much is developing and unveiling.
Cheers to the best fans in the world and the greatest web-visitors and online friends,
P.S. I advice we start saving those pennies cause "Reason" will be out soon and I think we'll all want to get more than one copy and secure Melanie a top 5 entry in the UK charts and European charts and a higher entry than last time around in the USA Billboards.
P.S.S. Feel free to drop me emails, even if not "Melanie C" related.
Melanie C has revealed the title to her second album via her official website. "Reason" is the much anticipated title, which makes the previous stories of the title being Album #2 and the tracklisting a rumour which she has proven half wrong.
According to Angie, the famous spicenews gal, Melanie C's management has stated that Melanie C will not be removing her tattoos and that "Help Me Help You" was co-written by Melanie C and was given to Holly Valance because Melanie C didn't feel it fit in with the rest of her work, new material, and Phil suggested giving the track to Holly whom he worked with previously. Melanie C agreed, and Holly accepted the track since it fit right in on her album.
Thanks Angie for the HMHY and Tattoo stories.
These pictures were of last months Playstation 2 party, available at ebay at the moment. This was the latest Melanie C spotting.
Melanie C will be at the EMA this Thursday Nov 14. Mel will fly in to Barcelona to present an award as she takes a break from the finishing touches of her new album.
More stories about Melanie are popping up in the news.
from Neil Sean - Sky News and Channel 5
Three years after launching her first solo album (Northern Star), Melanie C- known as Sporty Spice- returns to the scene with new material. Many are the speculations of why she's taken so long in releasing the much awaited album ( weight -gain, issues with Virgin, etc) but she declines to clarify anything stating she just was waiting for the right moment to return to the spotlight. "Here It Comes Again" is the first single off her new album entitled "Album #2" which will be released early next year according to Melanie herself. This new album is much rockier and more danceable than the previous album (Northern Star). The tracklisting is as follows:
Album title: Album #2
Tracklisting:
01 Sixty Seconds
This is not an official tracklisting and I'm not sure if they got it right. I appreciate the repot none the less. As we've seen Melanie C has said ID will not be on the album. We've also noticed that APRA has verified that Help Me Help You is on the Holly Valance cd and not Melanie's. It's still pretty amazing that the mag was printed a week before the songs were loaded onto the EMI and APRA sites.
title: HELP ME HELP YOU
Tell me how it feels
Help me heal
Help me help you
Make another plan
Help me heal
Help me help you
Help me help you
You will be free someday
Help me (When you wanna be turned around)
Help me (When you wanna be turned around)
Dennis did us all a great favour and contacted APRA to find out what the new recent songs that had been catalogued by EMI were and whether Melanie C just wrote them, performs them or would release it on her forthcoming album. EMI catalogues all songs that are published and or maybe not officially released but used by other bands other than the writers.
Help Me Help You
Living Without You
Day After Day
Never Getting Over You
Sixty Seconds
Situation
Here It Comes Again
On The Horizon
So Long
Even more new Melanie Chisholm songs are catalogued....these are songs I don't remember aving seen before or heard of. They may be part of the new album. Here are the songs:
Help Me Help You
(Melanie Chisholm/Phil Thornally/Dave Munday)
Living Without You
(Julian Gallagher/Melanie Chisholm/Richard Stannard/Simon Hale)
Never Getting Over You
(Juilain Gallagher/Melanie Chisholm/Richard Stannard/Simon Hale)
On The Horizon
(Rick Nowels/Melanie Chisholm/Gregg Alexander)
So Long
(Julian Gallagher/Melanie Chisholm/Richard Stannard/Simon Hale)
Sixty Seconds
(Julian Gallagher/Melanie Chisholm/Richard Stannard/Simon Hale)
These songs were found both in EMI's emimusicpub.
Things are preparing for the release of Melanie's forthcoming album, and EMI, Virgin's parent company, is starting to catalogue some of the new songs.
So far fans have been able to find two new songs previously unheard of:
Here It Comes Again
(De Vries M/Chisholm M/Howard R)
Situation
(Matt Rowe/Melanie Chisholm/Julian Gallagher)
These songs were found both in EMI's emimusicpub and APRA's website.
See Melanie this Thursday (14.11.02) as she joins the list of presenters at the MTV Europe Music Awards
Melanie will be taking a break from the final stages of her album and heading out to Barcelona to make her first TV appearance this year. The awards will be screened live at 9pm on MTV or you can see it repeated the following day on Channel 4 at 10.30pm.
Melanie C is in for a change, but it's not from her music or her persona. The sporty gal seems to have gotten a lot out of the healthy LA sun and the health crazed people. It now seems that the famous singer is willing to shed out a couple of dollars to have laser surgery to remove her tats.
According to Now Magazine, Melanie C will undergo the laser surgery, which we are assured is harmless and painless, to have some unwanted body art removed and thus give herself a new look just in time for the release of her forth-coming album.
I remind fans this is just a rumour and none of it has been or will be verified. A tattoo is very symbolic to it's carrier/owner...if Melanie C has decided to remove all or any it has most than likely been well thought out and she's doing it for her own personal reasons, the same reasoning that brought her to apply the tattoos to begin with. This does not, in anyway, reflect a sign of weakness as some fans have already began to assume. It's most likely not an attempt to be more marketable as Now Magazine has made it sound. A person's morals lie far within the person and not on the surface of their skin. Tattoos may represent a moral that makes you unique, but removing the symbol doesn't remove the feeling, the talent, or the moral.
Now magazine has "sources" that are "close" to Melanie C and we all know that all tabloids are based on stories of the sort. It's good to see Melanie C in the magazines again. Hope to read real interviews with her very soon.
