06-16-03 08:40 EST Official Next Single(s) From MelanieC.net Melanie's next singles are confirmed. "Melt" will be released in the UK, "Yeh Yeh Yeh" will be released in the rest of Europe and "Let's Love" will be released in Japan. All will hit the airwaves, tv and radio, about the end of summer. The Japanese car add has already aired in Japan and is set to the tune of "Let's Love".
On The Horizon moves down to the 29th spot in the UK charts. Surprisingly enough On The Horizon moves to the 8th spot in the Scottish charts.
Reason returns to the top 100 this week, as OTH has reignited interest in the album. Reason rises to the 81st spot.
On The Horizon has entered the UK Charts at number 14 this week. Congratulations to Melanie C for her top 15 hit.
Although expectations were high for the release, lack of available copies at stores made the single hard to come by for fans. There are yet many fans who have been unable to get their hands on a copy. Hopefully next time Virgin will make sure the cd is stocked properly at the shops.
Plans are already on their way for the next single rumoured to be Positively Somewhere for England, Yeh Yeh Yeh for Europe and Let's Love in Japan although Let's Love will not have a video, Positively Somewhere and Yeh Yeh Yeh will have two different videos.
A hectic week indeed.
Rumours are spreading all over the net and in the UK press about what the outcome of this chart race will be. Melanie C finds OTH entering the top 20...but leaves the record company and the singer wondering what happened to the top 5 tip the single received earlier last week.
Although the track has received much airplay, it seems sales have been low. So as one fan to another urge you to go out and buy your copies if you haven't. Sales via Melanie C's own website count towards the chart as the webmaster and moderator clarified for me earlier on.
Fans who recently saw Melanie on her last round of Television Promo said that the star voiced concern about the entrance of the single in the charts. Could the rumours be true that Virgin are upset? Might the rumours of being dumped have come sort of truth? One thing is clear, the singles release have neither helped it sell, nor helped the album climb back into the top 75.
On the Horizon is availble now in the UK and Europe. Check out your local store, and buy a copy...or two. The race for the charts is a bit tight, only 500 copies can make a difference between the top 5 and the top 20. With just another 100 copies we can get her a top 10 entry.
On The Horizon
Melanie's second single off her second album entitles "Reason" is released today. "On The Horizon" comes in two formats, cd and dvd. The b-side "I Love You Without Trying" is included on the CD release. The DVD features the muchly anticipated b-side "Wonderland", "Never Be The Same Again" accoustic set recorded at Radio Donna, the behind the scenes at the "On The Horizon" video shoot, a photo gallery and the title track.
