Melanie is still on vacation, but today 45 Management confirmed what has been spoken during the last week.
Last week news crept that Melanie C was being dropped from Virgin Records due to low sales, despite a 3 year contract. We may perhaps never know who left who.
The facts are that Melanie is no longer signed under Virgin Records as a solo artist. She and 45 managment have been speaking about what needed to be done since her last single, Virgin did very little to promote the album and the singles and the formats of the cds were terrible.
Today, 45 can confirm that Melanie C will not be signin any deals. Though originally they mentioned she would take her time and deciding her next label, it seems the star has decided to start her own lable to release her own material. 45 has confirmed that Melanie was un the writing process of the third solo album when she parted ways with Virgin but she was able to keep her new work, she will continue to push forward with her new material and is anxious to see how her fans react to the news and the new material she hopes to put out before summer 2004. Previously Melanie mentioned a Spring deadline, but in order to keep some fans at bay, we've taken the liberty to extend the date here at MelCNews.com
Meanwhile, look forward to Melanie's birthday coming up rather quickly this month. We're behind you all the way Melanie.
