I've been very busy lately! But I'm spending a lot of time in England, which means I've got the chance to appreciate my own flat at last, and see my friends and stuff and really feel settled. My flat feels like home now the couch needs cleaning so it's got that 'lived-in' feel at last!
I've got a new fish tank with loads of fish in it. They need a lot of looking after and I've been doing everything right - I've got a man who comes around and cleans the tank every week. The fish have been introduced quite slowly because they're all different types. You have to put the more timid ones in first so they get the feel of the environment and are not scared off by the others.
Anyway, I had some really bad news today. One of my fish died. It was a little puffa fish. He looked a bit poorly yesterday, he had a yellow belly and some spots on his face, and when I woke up this morning he was dead. He was called Fergus, because he looks like ny drummer. The aquatic centre said they'll send round another one, but they can't replace Fergus. We were going to give him a little burial, but we can't find him. I think the other fish might have eaten him. I hope they don't get sick now!
I've also got some little yellow fish that are carnivorous. They eat Indonesian blood worms, which come frozen in little blocks. You defrost them a little bit, then throw them and all these worms disperse in the tank. I've also got some red and bright orange parrot fish. They look a bit like Geri actually, because they've got big fluttery eyelashes and look like they're wearing eyeliner. So one of them is called Geri.
Elsewhere in the flat, I've still to finish my bedroom. It's blue and lilac and the furniture's all antique, but I think it needs to be warmed up, so I'm going to get some textures in there. Also, my yoga room needs decorating. It's got wooden floors and yoga mats and mirrors, but I want to paint the walls and maybe have a little shrine for meditating. (The only New Year's resolution I made was to do yoga twice a week, and I've been doing it five times a week, which is good.) I need some more furniture for my second bedroom and my dining room hasn't even been started yet. It's a very slow process!
My album is flying high at the moment, apart from 5ive being above it!! I was really upset a few weeks ago because it wasn't even in the top 75. I know I'm very biased because it's mine, but I think it's a really good album. Anyway, it's gone platinum, so I'll be putting that one on the wall. That's what I was aiming for. It's also started to do well in Europe. It's funny with it being called Northern Star, because it's really taken off in more northern parts of Europe like Scandinavia and Sweden. Places like France are a little bit slower.
Thanks to everyone who bought Never Be The Same Again my first solo number 1! I've had the most positive feed back from this single than any other in my solo career. I've just announced my solo tour dates which is really exciting. Check out my website for all the details. I'll be doing a really big UK tour in small venues, with crowds up to 2000. I much prefer the smaller venues - the energy is just instant and you can sometimes get lost in an arena because it's so big and there's so much air to fill. I'll be going from aberdeen to Folkstone, including places like Belfast and Cardiff - Everywhere that I've never been before. The new tour will be in September. I really want to got to America, but it's such a hard country to break, especially at the moment because they've got so much home grown talent. So I've decided I'm gonna tour, tour, tour to everywhere that wants me, so that by the time I get to America, the act will be totally fabulous! I'm really eager to go there, so I hope it works out.
In the meantime, the new Spice album will be finished in April, so it'll be out this year. Alright!!!!!
