I love the powerful backing/accent vocals at the end of Why. How much of the backing vocals on Northern Star did you do?

There're actually only two songs where I used other backing vocalists and that's "Why" and a B-side on the "Northern Star" single, "Something's Going to Happen."

When and are you and the girls going on tour again?

We're working on our third album at the moment, which we hope to tour next summer. But I'll be touring my solo record all spring.

I love punk, so I'm happy you went in this direction but why did you decide to make this kind of an album and who are your favorite punk influences?

Of course I've got to say the Sex Pistols are my favorite punk band. Steve Jones is a good friend. He appears on the album and was probably quite influential in my choice of direction.

Firstly, many congrats on the album! Besides Letterman, what other American TV shows are you going to be on?

First of all thank you, I'm glad you like it. I'm also going to be on Queen Latifah's show and I plan to do Jay Leno early next year.

What do you wanna be doing 10 years from now?

I hope to be writing and performing music for as long as I live.

I let my mum collect all the memorabilia.

My favorite ice cream is Haagen Dazs Cookie Dough Dynamo.

Northern Star is about something that I'm searching for in life, something that's a constant, something that can help guide me through life.

Do you have a secret crush on any guys in Hollywood?

I quite fancy Freddie Prinze, Jr. but I've never met him.

You said zig-a-zig-ah means whatever you want it to mean so what do you want it to mean??

For me it means "Sex!" Just for all the Spice Girls -- that's what it means really.

Whenever I've got time I attend a ballet class in London. I love it.

I've got a lot of strong feelings about homelessness. And I try and do as much as I can for AIDS and cancer charities.
