In 1999 Melanie C surprised the world with the release of her solo album intitled "Northern Star". Northern Star went on to become one of 99's best albums...after all the initial prejudice settled. Melanie C made a brief 30 day world tour in support of the release of "Northern Star". Melanie C visited Canada, United States, UK, Australia, Japan, Africa, Spain and much more countries. Melanie C then joined her bandmates, the Spice Girls, for a brief Christmas tour in England.
